Our School
About Our School
At Tonalea Middle School, your child will thrive in an AVID-focused environment, benefiting from strategic teaching methods like note taking and WICOR strategies (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, Reading).
Innovation is at the heart of our curriculum, where math students delve into real-world math concepts through "prisms of reality." We offer diverse electives such as forensics and coding, alongside fine arts, band, and middle school sports.
Through our various clubs, including robotics, students connect and compete, fostering shared interests and personal growth. Your child's potential will flourish within our dynamic and forward-thinking educational community.
The Coronado Learning Community is unwavering in its commitment to nurturing the dreams and aspirations of all our Tonalea Middle School students. With a shared vision for a brighter future, community partners join us in our pledge to champion early aspirations of higher education through the Coronado Promise.
About Our Campus
Tonalea Middle School is located in south Scottsdale, just north of the Tempe border in the Coronado Learning Community.
Nestled amidst a lush landscape of towering trees and sprawling greenery, our middle school offers a serene sanctuary for learning. The school's architecture reflects an innovative design, with each grade level housed in its own distinct pod. These pods, characterized by their open-concept layouts and abundant natural light, foster a sense of community and belonging among students and teachers alike. Within these spaces, collaborative learning thrives as students engage in lively discussions, group projects, and hands-on activities.
